Open-air Ice Rink in Downtown of Pyongyang Begins ServiceThe open-air ice rink in the downtown of Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, began its operation on December 31, 2024 on the occasion of the hopeful New Year. The winter mass sports service centre, which has all service facilities including protective walls, a skate lending room, a skating repair room and soft drinks, was crowded with citizens from the first day of its operation. Optimistic figures of working people, youth and students and children skating and sledging at the open-air ice rink added to the scenery of the capital city greeting the new year 2025. The ice rink is open mainly in the evening time, and skates and slides are served according to weather conditions.
