Kwangbop Temple at Foot of Mt TaesongThere are many historic relics in Pyongyang which is proud of a long history and culture. Among them is the Kwangbop Temple at the foot of the picturesque Mt Taesong.The Kwangbop Temple was built during the reign of King Kwanggaetho of Koguryo and it was rebuilt in １７２７. But it was totally destroyed during the Fatherland Liberation War by the U.S. imperialists’ indiscriminate bombing.Later President Kim Il Sung, regarding cultural heritage of the nation as precious treasures of the country, instructed to reconstruct the Kwangbop Temple.
