Agricultural workers in Jiha-ri, Phangyo County, Kangwon Province of the DPRK, received new houses which were built as befitting the Korean-style rural civilization. The village where dwelling houses are located in the sunny place in conformity with the natural and geographical conditions of the mid-mountainous area shows the daily-changing socialist countryside. A ceremony of moving into new houses took place on August 24 attended by officials of the Party and power organs in Kangwon Province and Phangyo County, builders and agricultural workers. A congratulatory speech was made, the licences for the use of houses were conveyed and speeches were made. When moving into new houses began amid merry dancing, the village was in a festive atmosphere, full of excitement of the farmers who became masters of the new houses. Officials shared joy with the owners of the new houses. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
