In the DPRK, farmers devote sincere efforts on the fields all year round from the sowing season to the harvest season to fill the granary of the country. Every year, high-yielding farms, workteams and farmers continue to increase in number thanks to farmers’ zeal and hard effort to overfulfil their national grain production plans by actively introducing scientific and advanced farming methods. The country identifies such exemplary high-yielding farmers as patriotic farmers. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
