A meeting took place at the Taedonggang Diplomatic Club in Pyongyang on September 30 to mark International Day of Older Persons. Present there were officials of the Central Committee of the Korean Federation for the Care of the Aged, officials concerned and aged and working people in Pyongyang. Speakers warmly congratulated the aged people on greeting International Day of Older Persons and said that the respectedComrade Kim Jong Un is taking warm care of the aged people across the country with parental affection. Palace-like old people's homes have been built at scenic spots of the country and the old people with no one to depend on are leading a worthwhile life under the social care and respect, they said, adding this reality is the true picture of their country provided by the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on caring for the aged. The aged people in their speeches said that they are enjoying a new life and a new civilization to their heart’s content even in the twilight of their life under the care of the Party, adding that they would devote their remaining years to encouraging the rising generations to follow the road of loyalty and patriotism. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
