The 18th Pyongyang International Film Festival closed at the Pyongyang International Cinema House on October 27. Present at the closing ceremony were Vice-Premier of the Cabinet Kim Myong Hun, officials concerned, creators and artistes in the field of the motion picture industry, working people in Pyongyang and foreign delegations and delegates and international judges on a visit to the DPRK to take part in the festival. Members of the diplomatic corps in Pyongyang and overseas compatriots staying in the homeland were invited to the ceremony. The results of the festival jury were announced before an awarding ceremony. Adopted there was a letter to the respectedComrade Kim Jong Un from the participants in the 18th Pyongyang International Film Festival. Ri Song Un, director-general of the National Administration of Motion Picture Industry who doubles as chairman of the festival organizing committee, made a closing address. The results of examination by the festival jury are as follows: Grand Prix: Russia-China co-produced feature film "Red Silk" Special Jury Award: Chinese feature film "We Are Together" Special Award of Festival Organizing Committee: Chinese documentary "Above Water" and Greek documentary "Health and Healing in Ancient Greece and China" Best Screenplay Award: Thai feature film "How to Make Millions before Grandma Dies" Best Direction Award: Russia-China co-produced feature film "Red Silk" Best Photography Award: Chinese feature film "Story of Cotton Field" Best Art Award: Russian feature film "My Wild Friend" Best Music Award: Russian feature film "War and Music" Best Technique (Special Display Effect) Award: Chinese documentary "Inside the Wandering Earth" (Part 2) Best Sound Effect Award: Korean feature film "Days and Nights of Confrontation", sequel to "One Day and One Night" Best Animation Award: Korean historical animation "Prince Hodong and Princess of Rangnang" (Parts 1, 2) Best Documentary Award: Portuguese documentary "Savanna and Mountain" Best Short Film Award: Mexican short film "If the Smoke Does Not Give Signs"
