Officials and primary information workers of UAWK tour revolutionary battle sites in area of Mt Paektu

Officials and primary information workers of the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea from across the DPRK made a study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the area of Mt Paektu from August 18 to 24. The members of the study tour group who left Hyesan toured the Pochonbo Revolutionary Battle Site and Chongbong and Konchang bivouacs, bearing deeper in mind the immutable truth that the revolutionary traditions of Mt Paektu created and glorified by President Kim Il Sung are the eternal treasure of the Korean revolution and treasured sword for victory. In front of the headquarters log cabin and Kim Jong Il ’s birthplace in the Paektusan Secret Camp, they recollected with deep emotion the noble revolutionary careers of the President and Chairman Kim Jong Il. They climbed up Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution. They toured Mupho Bivouac, the Taehongdan Revolutionary Battle Site and others associated with the sacred footprints of the President who led the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory. While camping outdoors like the anti-Japanese guerrillas, they studied the policies of the Workers’ Party of Korea around the campfire in the forest. Officials and primary information workers of the UAWK from across the country held a meeting to vow to carry on the march started in Mt Paektu under the guidance of the respectedComrade Kim Jong Un at the plaza before the statue of Chairman Kim Jong Il in the City of Samjiyon. Present there were Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the UAWK, officials concerned, officials of the UAWK and members of the study tour group. During the study tour, officials and primary information workers of the UAWK conducted colourful political and cultural works including a meeting to express their impressions of the reminiscences of anti-Japanese guerrillas and a contest of singing revolutionary songs in chorus while marching in array and toured the Samjiyon Potato Farina Factory and the Samjiyon Blueberry Drink Factory. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
