A swimming contest of officials of ministries and national agencies took place at the swimming pool of the Changgwang Health Complex in Pyongyang from August 4 to 7. The contest brought together more than 800 players from over 90 units. They competed in the team events and men’s and women’s individuals, divided into four groups. The State Planning Commission, the State Commission of Science and Technology, the Kyonghung Trade Bureau and the Foreign Languages Publishing House took the first place in each group. Medals were awarded to the players who proved successful in the team events and men's and women's individuals. The Pyongyang Times, launched on May 6, 1965, is the DPRK's only English newspaper. It gives latest, detailed information about what is going on in the country in politics, the economy, culture and other sectors. And the paper also provides a vast knowledge of the nooks and crannies of Pyongyang.
