DPRK players wins gold medals in succession at 2025 IWF World Championships

DPRK weightlifters have proved successful at the 2025 International Weightlifting Federation World Championships. In the women’s 58kg category, Kim Il Gyong lifted 104kg in snatch, 132kg in clean and jerk and 236kg in total (new world record) and thus took the first place in snatch, clean and jerk and total respectively and bagged three gold medals. Meanwhile, Pak Myong Jin lifted 180kg in clean and jerk in the men’s 65kg category and was placed first in clean and jerk and second in total.
