Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to the issue of agricultural development in his speech through videoconferencing on October 12. He said that the Russian government would continue to create conditions for boosting the technical sovereignty of the agricultural field, noting that it would promote the scientific research and development in the fields of genetics and the science of breeding, the training of agro-technicians and the production of food-processing equipment and others. Referring to the need to improve the living standards of the inhabitants in the rural areas, he stressed that it is important to create convenient working conditions and educational conditions for children and to this end newly build or repair schools, kindergartens, medical institutions and sports and cultural facilities. This is an important duty for the federal government, regional and local government organs and its fulfilment has a direct influence on the country’s agricultural development, he added.
