The 2025-2026 DPRK Premier Football League and Women's Premier Football League kicked off.
The premier leagues have brought together the men's and women's football teams at home including the April 25, Ryomyong, Sobaeksu, Amnokgang, Kigwancha, Pyongyang, Rimyongsu, Naegohyang, Wolmido and Jebi teams. They will be played in three stages.
The Hwaeppul Team beat the Sobaeksu Team 3-1 and the Ryomyong Team defeated the Rimyongsu Team 3-0 at the first stage of the premier football league held at Kim Il Sung Stadium on December 1.
At the first stage of the women's premier football league held at Sosan Football Stadium, the match between the Jebi and the Kalmaegi teams drew 1-1 and the Amnokgang beat the Rimyongsu 1-0.
